"The Mutants Are Revolting" is the one hundredth episode of Futurama, the twelfth of the sixth production season and the seventh broadcast season. It is scheduled to air 2 September, 2010. As a 100th episode, fans speculate that it will contain a special story highlighting this milestone.
Story
Leela leads an army of underground mutants in a rebellion against the surface people.[2] This episode will involve Leela's parents,[3] but while no other details have been released, a picture of the script seems to indicate that this episode will follow up on Amy Wong's doctorate given to her in "That Darn Katz!".[4][5] It is certain that Nibbler makes an appearance in a speaking role.[4] Given the episode's possible title ("The Mutants Are Revolting"), the episode may be a milestone in Futurama canon, where the Sewer Mutants may finally get to live up on ground.[5]
the Planet Express Crew has been hired to make their 100th delivery and Bender begins planning the party of the millennium. Meanwhile, however, the rest of the crew attends a fundraiser where Fry accidentally outs Leela as a mutant who is illegally living above ground. For that, she is banished to the sewers where her fellow mutants reside in futuristic squalor. Feeling guilty about his slip-up, Fry and the rest of the gang - along with the mutated members of Devo - join Leela in an epic mutant revolution against the surface dwellers.]],[6]
Production
According to David X. Cohen, the 100th episode may serve as a season finale, depending on Comedy Central.[7] A photo of Mike Rowe's production script have been uploaded by Mike Rowe onto his Facebook page. The cover of the script highlights it as the 100th episode, as well as revealing the title, "The Mutants Are Revolting", indicating the episode will most likely contain mutants other than Leela.
The rock band Devo will appear in this episode. They had mutated over the years, so now they fight for mutant rights from eHIO.[8]
